Fostering democracy, dialogue and human rights
Kenya’s land area is nearly fourteen times that of Switzerland. It has a population of roughly 32.4 million.
For decades, Kenya has been ranked as one of the world’s most corrupt countries. It continues to be deeply marked by violence, inter-ethnic political conflicts, human rights violations and land theft. Female circumcision and HIV/Aids are widespread, and around 50% of the population live below the poverty line. This affects especially women, children, the landless, small farmers and semi-monadic cattle breeders.
